Robert Worthington

Robert Worthington was found dead in a churchyard in Diss on 30 April 2019.

His body was found by workers that were cutting grass at St Marys Church, along with a bag of belongings and a sleeping bag.

He had a large gash in the back of his head but his cause of death was given as hypothermia and alcohol intoxication.

He was a former Royal Navy engineer and paramedic but had become homeless. He was said to have had a history of heavy drinking which had resulted in him losing his job as a paramedic in 2011.

He had previously worked as a helicopter engineer for the Royal Navy until 2002 when he got work as a paramedic.

His inquest concluded that his death was alcohol-related.
